Sox is an 8-month old male terrier mix that is shy but very loving. He is currently in a foster home and thriving. He does well with our large and small dogs. He needs a home that is not super busy and without children (younger ones at least; quiet, older ones who can give some space may be acceptable to him). If you have a calm, predictable home, he may be a good fit as he needs to feel comfortable with his surroundings to open up. Once he does, he loves to collect all the toys and chew bones, cuddle with you, and give sweet little kisses.

TAPS-Tazewell Animal Protective Society was founded in 1958 in Pekin Illinois in a building donated by the City of Pekin on River Road. In 1979, rapidly rising river water forced the evacuation of the animals. Once again, the City of Pekin stepped in and donated a building for the animals. Several moves later, and with the help and generosity of many volunteers and community members, TAPS now has a new home at 100 TAPS Lane. Last year we celebrated 50 year of caring for the homeless animals of Central Illinois.
