ISSIE (Isadore) is a 1.5-year-old, 24 lb terrier mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for his humans. Fostered in Toronto, this sweet boy is happiest when he’s by your side—whether that’s curling up at your feet while you work or soaking up all the pets and belly rubs he can get. He absolutely loves walks, greets you with joyful jumps when you come home, and sleeps soundly through the night.
Issie has a playful spirit and gets along well with kids and other dogs. He prefers female dogs and may be a little territorial with males. He’s even curious about cats—sometimes barking or chasing in a goofy, “let’s play” kind of way. He’s also a power chewer who enjoys his toys and is very food-motivated, which makes training fun and effective. His foster family has already been working with him on things like not jumping on furniture and getting more comfortable with grooming (and yes, Issie needs a proper haircut!).
Like many young dogs, Issie is still learning a few manners. He can be a little possessive over food or toys, but it’s nothing severe and can be managed. He loves people so much that being left alone can be hard for him, but with patience and consistency, he’s learning that his humans always come back. One thing to watch is that he may try to dash out the door when it opens, so his forever family will want to continue working on keeping him safe.
With his happy personality, gentle nature, and eagerness to please, Issie is ready to bring joy, love, and plenty of tail wags to his forever home. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will shower you with affection, Issie just might be your perfect match.
