Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Howard is a 6 month old lab mix that came to us with his littermates after being dumped in a bag on a mountain in Kentucky. Can you believe it? Howard and his sister Hazel are now our only two puppies remaining from this litter and we would really love to find them their own forever homes.
Howard is doing so well in his foster home and we are so sad that someone is missing out on all the fun! Howard is 33 lbs currently and though he is still growing it definitely seems like he is going to be a medium kind of guy.
He is dog friendly and loves to play with all of his friends. He is learning different play styles and boundaries. He is cuddling HARD and showing all his best qualities. He is currently doing well with potty training and with continuing with routine and positive reinforcement we have no doubt that after a little bit of time in his forever home he will adjust to his new normal quickly. He is doing well in his crate and utilizes it when no one is home and to sleep in overnight. He is friendly with every person he meets both adult and child.
Howard is currently being fostered in Chicago and does have an open adoption radius for meaning he can be adopted in or outside of Chicago. However, selected adopter must be willing to meet and finalize in Chicago. His adoption fee includes his age appropriate vaccines, up to date prevention, neuter, deworming and microchip. If you would like to be considered a potential forever home please apply directly!

Additional adoption info
Every dog is different: personality, temperament, energy, comfort with kids and other animals, medical needs and more. We take all these factors into consideration when making a forever-home match. We are careful about the placements we make. We do our best to match the right dog with the right adoptive home because we want this to be the pet’s permanent home. These steps ensure that we have all the information needed to make the best placement for you or your family.

More about this rescue
At Chicago Rescue Authority, our mission is to create a compassionate world where every animal is treated with love, respect, and dignity. We are dedicated to educating the public about the adverse realities of the mass-production industry for puppies, raising awareness about responsible pet adoption and ownership, and actively working towards reducing the overpopulation of dogs in shelters.
Our promise to Chicago is to build our rescue on the tenets of teamwork, education and compassion. We will listen to the concerns and ideas of those around us and be ready to grow alongside this rescue and this mission.
Volunteers, fosters, donors and adopters will be the backbone of this organization, just like every other animal welfare non-profit. We will be hosting a variety of fundraisers and mixers throughout the year aimed at building our support network. We can’t wait to meet all the animals whose lives we are going to change!
