My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Melvin: The Dog Who Believes Personal Space is Sacred

You know how some people say “I’m not a hugger”? Melvin is their spirit animal.

🐾 Sweet? Yes.
🐾 Excited to see you? Absolutely—he’ll hop like a caffeinated bunny when you walk in.
🐾 Snuggler? Not even a little. Melvin respects personal space… yours and especially his.

This distinguished little introvert prefers to admire you from afar. Pets? Meh. He’s more about vibes than physical affection. He gets along great with other dogs, loves his crate, and will politely wait for you to bring treats directly to him like the king he is.

Melvin isn’t going to bond with you overnight. But for the patient, gentle soul willing to let him set the pace, he’ll eventually let you into his quirky little world.

Think of him as your low-maintenance roommate: quiet, respectful, and he’ll never steal your spot on the couch (he’s not that kind of guy).

❤️ Could Melvin be your match

Additional adoption info

Our animals can be viewed either on our website under the adopt a pet tab, in person at our facility located at 11937 13th Street in Yucaipa, or you can call us for more information. If you choose to come and visit, feel free to wander through the kennels and cattery. If you find an animal that you like, please come to the office for more information. After that you will have the opportunity to interact with the animal and learn more about its history and background. If after the meet and greet you decide that you would like to adopt the animal and our experience leads us to believe that it is a good fit, you can pay the adoption fee and begin life with your new best friend.
