Meet Gracie – Strong, Smart, and Learning to Trust
Gracie is a 2-year-old Cane Corso/Boxer mix who was found roaming in West Alton and safely brought to PAC on 7/20/25. At first, she was very scared and unsure of people, but with time and patience, Gracie has opened up and is now showing her playful, affectionate side.
She enjoys toys and is very tuned in to her handler during playtime. Gracie did well on both the toy and food tests, showing no signs of resource guarding. She thrives when engaged with people and loves having a job to do.
On her dog test, Gracie showed she is very forward. We have learned she does best with male dogs her size. Best Home for Gracie:
Experienced handler comfortable with a large, powerful breed
Children 10+ (due to her strength and energy)
Daily mental and physical enrichment (walks, games, training)
Someone with breed knowledge and an understanding of her needs
Positive reinforcement training to strengthen her bond and polish obedience ??
Gracie is a stunning, intelligent dog who has come so far already. With the right guardian, she will continue to build confidence and become a loyal, loving companion.
