Rocky A422137

Located At: Sonoma County Animal Services

Description: I am a neutered male, black and chocolate Labrador Retriever mix.

Age: I am estimated to be about 2 years and 9 months old.

Weight: I weigh approximately 98 pounds.

More Info: I have been at the shelter since Feb 11, 2025.

Rocky is a friendly large dog. He likes attention, he would benefit from training and plenty of play time. He was Playful when meeting another dog. He has jumped over a couple of 6-foot fences so may need to be watched in that respect. He would do best with children ages 12 and older, ready for a new fury friend come visit with him.

More about this rescue

We are a group of people dedicated to rescuing dogs from crisis situations, some of which include euthanasia by animal shelters, neglect and other forms of abuse, or "free to a good home" ads, which result in dogs being bounced from one home to another, or being acquired by animal brokers ("bunchers") and sold to research laboratories where they are used for testing then discarded ("cruelty industries").

NBCR&P works primarily with 5 herding breeds, and herding breed mixes. On occasion, NBCR&P also rescues and places other breeds. We foster our dogs in a home environment, rather than a kennel, if at all possible. We take pride in our promise that at any time and for any reason in the dog's life, if the need arises, he or she has a safe place with us ("return to rescue" policy).
