Ruby was found as a stray with no identification. She was very wary of finder and that trait has remained with her. But once she knows you mean her no harm she is your bestie! She is super affectionate, and loves to get in bed next to you for a bit to say 'Good morning'. Otherwise she will find a cool spot to nap or sleep at night. Ruby is a true gem!
Ruby is in a home with large and small dogs. She loves them all and is very playful. It's her favorite thing to do. And play chase around the pool. She does seem to prefer male companions, even trying to get the older, grouchy boys to play with her. Ruby would thrive in a home with another balanced, playful male dog. We have no knowledge of how she is with cats, but she pays them no attention on walks.
Overall Ruby is a quiet dog unless she gets super excited, like going on her walks and she will voice her approval. She walks really well, enjoying a lot of sniff time and does not react to seeing other dogs out walking. Ruby is reliably house trained and does her business on walks. She kennels really well and is so smart. She quickly learned how to use the dog door and sit/stay before eating, basically the house rules. She got out twice after going to foster but only stretched her legs (ran) and came right back. She loves chew toys, does not get into places she should not and is not destructive in any way.
Ruby was underweight but had no health problems. She has been spayed and will be vaccinated when adopted. She is being fed half raw and half homemade, and has done really well on this diet. Her coat has become glossy and so soft. Ruby is not a large dog, weighing about 47 lbs. We think she is mixed with some type of shepherd as she has patches of brown fur and lovely light brown eyes.
Ruby is with No One's Dog Rescue in Cypress, Texas. We are a registered 501(c)3 non-profit who take in street dogs, revitalize their health and find loving forever homes. If you are interested in meeting Ruby, please request and fill out our adoption form first. If you read this far, thank you for your interest in Ruby and especially in a rescue dog, the very best breed!

More about this rescue
I am an animal lover but specifically a dog lover. I have picked up stray dogs for many years so forming a rescue was inevitable. No One's Dog Rescue is devoted to saving street dogs, one dog at a time. This includes good nutrition for vital health and training for an amendable dog. Part of my mission is to connect the right dog with the right person so there is much discussion with adopter on specific wants vs needs. I also advocate and support raw feeding and natural rearing protocols. As a nutritionist myself I know first hand the power of good food irregardless of species. I rescue because the need is so great and hope to set an example of compassion and responsibility by my actions.
