If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Meet Freya. She is a 29# 1.5-2 year old heart throb of a mutt (staffordshire terrier and ?). My partner and I adopted her from Marion County Dog shelter beginning of June 2025. She is beyond sweet, smart, and loves to snuggle. She has been thriving in our home but fearful of my partner. She has come a long way with him, but not enough he could care for her when I am not home. She has been friendly with ALL other humans including small children under supervision. No known bite history.
She gets along with our other small dog and has adjusted to backyard chickens (supervised). She has had leash reactivity with other dogs on walks and continues to improve with exposure and "leave it" command. She knows how to sit, lay down, bed (place) and is potty trained. She is learning to stay with lots of success. She does not love a crate and we continue working on positive reinforcement with it. She is able to be home alone uncrated. Freya is such a love and we hope to find her forever home.
