My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Chewie! I’m an 11-year-old pup with a youthful spirit and a heart full of love. At just 16 pounds, I’m the perfect size for lap cuddles, backyard zoomies, and everything in between. I’m a smart cookie—potty trained, crate trained, and always eager to please. I listen well and love making my humans happy. Whether it’s chasing toys, soaking up the sun, or flopping over for a belly rub, I bring joy to every moment. I’ve got a gentle soul and a playful streak, and I never say no to attention or snuggles. I’m happiest in a cat-free home, and while I haven’t spilled the beans on how I feel about other dogs just yet, I’d appreciate slow introductions to help me feel safe and comfortable. Also, I am a bit of a door darter, so you'll need to be careful around open doors.  If you’re looking for a bright, affectionate buddy who’ll be your sunshine and your snuggle bug, I’m your guy. Let’s make some memories together! My adoption fee is $100, but if you are a senior yourself (65+), my adoption fee is waived. Chewie takes Vetmedin which costs approximately $60 per month.

Thank you for your continued support in our rescue efforts!

We are always looking for good foster homes. These homes allow us to rescue more Boston Terriers in need because we have a place for them to go until they are adopted. Please consider becoming a foster home for Boston Terrier Rescue of North Texas. You can fill out a foster application at Foster Application | Boston Terrier Rescue Of North Texas. This will allow you to possibly become a foster home for one of our little Boston Terriers in need. Thank you for considering the possibility of fostering for Boston Terrier Rescue of North Texas!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Upon approval of your adoption application, an Adoption Coordinator will contact you via email or telephone to match you/your family with one of our available Boston Terriers. Once a dog has been identified as a good match for the home, the foster home will contact you to schedule a time to meet the dog as well as conduct the home visit. If you pass the home visit and the meet and greet goes well (the dog is a good match for your home/family and any existing pets in the home) a 72-hour trial period will begin at that time. The foster will collect the signed adoption contract as well as the adoption fee prior to leaving. Once the 72-hour trial period has expired, the adoption will be finalized.

All of our Bostons are in foster homes. An application must be filled out and approved prior to meeting any of our dogs.

More about this rescue

The Boston Terrier Rescue of North Texas began in the late 1980's when it became evident that there was a need to help Bostons in need. Thus, the humble beginnings of the Boston Terrier Rescue of North Texas. Calls poured in weekly from pounds and individuals about Bostons of all sizes, ages, shapes and colors needing homes. Rescue of today is one that is dedicated to educating the general public about making good choices when selecting a breed and, secondly, the right Boston for their situation. Over 1,000 Boston Terriers have been successfully adopted to loving homes since we began. It is through hard work and dedication to this very active and amusing breed that this organization can contribute its successes. "Thank you" to all of you who believe in recycling love.

We help dogs with serious medical problems because we believe, whenever possible, that every dog should have a chance for a happy, healthy life. Unfortunately, our veterinary expenses often far exceed the amount of the adoption donation, and we must rely on dog lovers like you to provide financial assistance.
