My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sasha! Sasha is a gorgeous Siberian Husky/Great Pyrenees mix, born
around November 17, 2024. With her thick white coat and soulful eyes, it's
easy to fall for her looks-but what truly makes Sasha special is her
strength, spirit, and resilience. Sasha came into rescue with a fractured
tibia that required two surgeries and more than five months of recovery and
rehab. Her crucial puppy months were spent with strict activity limits,
unable to run, play, or train like most dogs her age. Despite that, Sasha
has blossomed-she's house and crate trained, knows several commands, and is
making steady progress with leash manners and polite greetings. Now that
she's finally able to experience life, Sasha approaches everything with
enthusiasm-it's like the world is brand new to her. She's still learning how
to channel her excitement, but with consistent training, structure, and
positive redirection, she is improving every day. At nearly 70 lbs and still
growing (she will likely reach 90-100 lbs), Sasha needs a family who can
keep up with her energy, strength, and high play drive. She would do best in
a home with another medium-to-large dog who enjoys active, rough-and-tumble
play. A small dog would not be a good match for her size and style of play.
She is also too excitable around cats, so a feline-free home will be best.
Because Sasha can still get jumpy and mouthy when excited, she would do best
with children 12 or older. She will need a secure fenced yard, plenty of
exercise, and an adopter experienced with large, working-breed dogs. She's
not suited for the hustle and bustle of city living, but would thrive in a
suburban or rural home where she can enjoy space, structure, and
companionship. Sasha is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.
After everything she has overcome, she's ready to find the right forever
family-one who sees not only her beauty but also her potential, and who is
committed to giving her the guidance, training, and love she deserves. If

More about this rescue

Carolina P.A.W.S. is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization comprised of a network of compassionate Carolinians, all of whom are volunteers. We are devoted to helping abandoned and abused cats and dogs throughout the greater Charlotte area find loving homes. CPAWS does not have a facility and relies entirely on volunteer foster parents to care for an animal until we are able to find a pet their forever home. Our founding members have been collectively involved in animal rescue for over 20 years.

Carolina P.A.W.S. volunteers can be found "in the trenches," rescuing animals at high risk- those starving on the streets, languishing in shelters, and suffering in abusive situations. Each animal has a different past but our promise to them all is the same…a second chance. We provide them with medical attention, rehabilitate them physically and emotionally, and care for them in foster homes until they can be placed in loving permanent homes.

Along the way, we prepare them to become wonderful companions by taking the time to socialize them and patiently teaching them to trust. We also spay/neuter each one, provide all inoculations, and ensure that they are in perfect health before being made available for adoption.
