My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Hera!
This 2-year-old, 13.5-pound Chihuahua may be small in size, but she has a huge heart and an even bigger love for snuggling. Hera is a gentle soul who starts out shy, but once she feels safe, she blossoms into the most loyal, cuddly companion you could ever hope for.

Hera adores children and loves nothing more than curling up next to them for naps. She’s also potty trained and crate trained, and while she was a little unsure before, she’s really come into her own in a loving home. She gets along well with other mild-mannered dogs, though she may be a little shy when first meeting them.

While Hera doesn’t trust men right away, she’s not aggressive—just cautious and looking for patience and kindness. She would thrive in a calm, gentle home where she can continue to build confidence and share her quiet, devoted love.

If you’re looking for a sweet, snuggly girl who’ll warm your heart (and your lap), Hera is ready to be your little shadow.

More about this rescue

We're a home-based rescue, so there's always someone around to care for the dogs. Most of our dogs are allowed to roam the main yard (as long as they behave themselves), and we have several food and water stations throughout. Every evening, the dogs are tucked into our kennel building with soft bedding.

Our focus is family-friendly dogs who get along with everyone. Of course, we sometimes don't know a dog's temperament until we meet, but we work hard to ensure dogs are going to the right homes for them.

Mission Statement
To provide rescue, rehabilitation and new loving homes for dogs that have been living on the street, abused, abandoned and removed from high kill shelters.
