My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mother of Windy, Gale, Eufy, Nimbus, Cirrus, and Raine

Soxy is the retired momma of Cirrus, Nimbus, Raine, Eufy, Windy and Gale. She decided it’s time she packed up and moved indoors to be comfortable, safe and loved. She was named for her long white back legs. She has an adorable white-accented nose and a white belly. Several of her children inherited her white feet and white nose.

Once living life outdoors in the cold and heat, Soxy has made incredible progress. She may be cautious at first but once she trusts you, she blossoms into an affectionate, loving companion.

She loves a basket of toys where she can pick her favorite plush toy to grab and find a cozy spot to play with it. She doesn’t mind sharing space with other like-minded laid-back kitties but isn’t particularly interested in playing or cuddling with them. She would do well in a home with other cats or as the only feline companion where she can rule the household.

We are foster home based. View our pets on AdoptaPet.com or at our adoption events Saturdays and Sundays 12-3pm at PetSmart in Prosper.

Submit Application

Complete our application at texascares.org/adopt

Approve Application

Once your application is approved, we ask you to sign the adoption agreement and pay a nominal fee.

Texas CARES' cats and kittens ARE NOT FOR SALE.
Cats and kittens are adopted by completing an adoption application that will be reviewed by the Texas CARES volunteer staff. Potential adopter(s) will be notified of the status of their application. This process can take 48-72 hours. Applications for adoption can be obtained from a Texas CARES volunteer or found on our website: http://www.texascares.org/adopt Adoption fees may be tax deductible donations.

More about this rescue

Texas CARES is a non-profit, no-kill animal welfare organization. Our all-volunteer group provides shelter and veterinary care for homeless and unwanted cats and kittens in the Dallas/ Ft. Worth and surrounding areas.

Our cats and kittens are rescued from local "kill" shelters and desperate public situations. All are cared for in foster homes until they are adopted.

Texas CARES was established in 1992 and is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization. All of Texas CARES' funding comes from donations and fundraising events.
