Meet Enzo! Enzo is a big breed pup that still has a lot of time to get bigger and bigger and needs a home that is ready to give him all the time, attention, patience and LOVE in the world to help him reach his full potential. Enzo was actually born in our care when his mama came in through animal control pretty and pregnant back in July of 2025. Enzo was adopted as a wee lad but came back into our care recently as a big boy that needs a lot of love. It seems like he hasn't had too much exposure to other dogs, so he can be dog selective, but we are helping him build up confidence daily. He is excellent on a leash and on walks, staying by your side and listening to your every command! Come down and meet him, he can show you his tricks! He knows sit, and gimme paw, and he definitely has a lot more room in his brain to learn, and he is very treat motivated which will make training pretty easy! Again, Enzo is not near being fully grown yet, so we do want his adopter to be somebody who is ready for a large breed dog and all the responsibility that comes with it. We invite you to visit the shelter locations and meet the animals and the adoption team!
Our adoption process is aimed at matching you, your family and your current pets with our animals for adoption. An adoption counselor will introduce you to our animals in a private meeting room. We will share information about the animal's medical and behavioral needs as well as their history.
When you find the right pet for you and your family, the adoption counselor will assist you in completing the proper paperwork. This process includes signing an adoption contract, reviewing medical history and providing proper pet care information.
What you will need in order to adopt:
A valid photo ID with your current address.
We recommend all members of the household meeting the animal before adopting.
If you are interested in adopting a dog and have other dog(s) living in your household, it is recommended that all dogs meet each other at the shelter.
Certain animals require additional steps or requirements.
Adoption fee is accepted in cash or credit/debit card. Checks, American Express, Discover, Care Credit are not accepted as payment.
PLEASE NOTE: We are not able to place a hold or accept a deposit for animals that are not available for adoption, that you have not done a formal meet and greet with, or over the phone. Adoptions are approved for the first qualified home. Adoption is not guaranteed and is at the discretion of Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh.
