Max is still getting settled, but so far he’s showing us he’s a sweet, food-loving guy with a gentle nature. He previously lived with another dog and did well, though he seems to prefer dogs his size or smaller—we’re still learning more about his doggy social skills.

He’s got a calm presence, a love for treats, and a soft spot for companionship.

Fees range from $80 to $150 depending on age and breed.

Go meet their pets

We have a weekly adoption fair at Petco in Danville, Va. where we bring some of our dogs and cats. Most are fostered in members' homes. If you see a dog on our web site, please call us and we will make an appointment for you to meet. We make every effort to match the dogs with their prospective homes. More about this rescue

We are a group of dedicated volunteers formed in 2007 to increase adoptions and reduce the kill rate from our local pound. We foster, vet, transfer and love all the dogs that we rescue and make every possible effort to place them in forever loving homes. We also operate a food bank to help keep pets in their homes. We are totally dependent on volunteers and donations from animal lovers like ourselves. We are saving and placing 20-30 dogs a month who would have been euthanized.
