Boxers are generally described as loyal, loving, playful, high energy, great family pets. That is spot on for Denali and Sequoia, well, minus the high energy part :) They are more like medium energy now, with spurts of high energy here and there, but they are good about when to be crazy! :) Both pups are happy, cheerful and sweet when meeting new friends. New friends equal more attention, snuggles, belly rubs and back scratches. Their absolute favorites! Denali especially, is a wiggle butt. He displays silly antics. They are both Velcro pups. They like to follow you around, be as close to you as possible, making sure you stay on track with whatever you are doing so that when you are not, you are giving them snuggles, belly rubs and back scratches :) When not following you around or soliciting affection, Denali and Sequoia love to relax outside. They love to watch squirrels do their thing. They know how to keep themselves entertained and content. One of the silly games they like to play with their humans is the Boxer Burrito Wrap game. They want you to put a blanket over them. They like to roll around under it and then you wrap them up like a burrito :) Denali and Sequoia are loud when they play. They are so loud sometimes their humans wonder if they are angry with each other or about to start a fight. Nope. They are just loud. Both pups could use some refinement on leash walking. They are just too excited and happy to go on walks. Sequoia likes to explore, Denali as well but he also likes to get his sniffs in. Both are neutral when they encounter other dogs on their walks. They also love car rides. Both pups love a little add ons to their kibbles, be it a little bit of wet food or unsalted vegetable/chicken broth or unsalted green beans or eggs. They like every meal to feel like a special holiday meal :)
Both pups are 6 years old, 50ish lb. They are looking for a home where there is a balance of outside time for walks, car rides and squirrel watching and snuggles and pets :) Both are spayed/neutered, crate and house trained. Their cue for crate time is 'kennel up'. Sequoia, if she is not ready to go in, will need a couple of 'reminders' :) They will give cute little whines or low growls when they need to use the bathroom. When it is cold, Denali wants a jacket on. He is a freeze baby. Denali has some arthritis in his joints. Glucosamine goes a long way for this kid. He is also a huge fan of drinking water. Denali and Sequoia are bonded and would love to be adopted together. They adjust well to new environments together.
