His name is Shaggy. He’s 7 yrs old. I acquired him in April 2025. He is a rescue from California. He is a good house and backyard dog. He doesn’t chew anything like shoes. He has a bone or two and a Kong that he likes. He is potty trained, although he peed a few times in the house in the beginning. He sleeps on the sofa and/or his dog bed. He doesn’t fetch or play with balls. He has responded to various basic trainings which includes walking on a leash. Generally, we walk morning and evening so we get daily teaching moments. The problem I have is he is aggressive/reactive towards other dogs. We went through a program to teach me additional skills to correct his behavior. Sometimes I catch him before he postures up and sometimes I don’t. Sometimes we walk the other way or just sit and stay. I use a treat based reward system to distract him. I have not been able to take him to outdoor activities or overnight stays.
