Meet Amelia!

Just like her namesake Amelia Earhart, this gorgeous black beauty loves being up high—especially perched on her favorite cat tree, surveying her kingdom like the adventurer she is!

Amelia is a playful, affectionate, and curious kitten who adores being around people, other cats, kittens, and even dogs. She’ll happily rub against your legs for pets and attention, and her purring motor gets going the second you say hello.

Food-motivated and always up for a treat, Amelia is easy to bond with and would thrive in a loving, active home. Whether she's climbing, playing, or snuggling, this little explorer is ready to fly straight into your heart.

All cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, treated for fleas and ear mites, tested for FELV/FIV and microchipped. You must fill out an adoption application and talk directly with one of our adoption coordinators. An adoption contract must be signed at time of adoption.

You may visit The Cat House daily, except major holidays, 1-4 pm, by appointment only. We also have an off-site adoption center located inside Petco at 4144 N. Blackstone at Ashlan in Fresno, which is open open daily 10am-5pm and Wednesday 10am-6pm.

The Cat House on the Kings is California's largest no-cage, no-kill, lifetime cat sanctuary and adoption center located on 12 acres along the Kings River in Parlier, California, which is in the central San Joaquin Valley, southeast of Fresno.

At The Cat House, our mission is to:
1) provide a no-cage, no-kill sanctuary for feral and abandoned cats and kittens for the State of California, primarily serving the Central Valley;
2) facilitate the adoption of cats (primarily), dogs and other rescued animals into safe, loving, healthy and permanent homes;
3) educate the public on how to become directly involved in improving the quality of animal welfare;
4) offer low cost spay and neuter referrals.
