Meet Onyx, a 5-year-old Great Dane who was surrendered to Big Dog Ranch when his previous owner could no longer care for him. Now, this gentle giant is searching for his second chance at a forever home. Because of his large size and shy, timid nature, Onyx would thrive best in an adult-only home with someone who understands the special needs of giant breeds. Ideally, his future adopter will have prior experience with dogs—especially Great Danes—so they can give him the confidence, structure, and love he deserves. Despite his stature, Onyx has a low-energy personality and enjoys a calm, relaxed environment. He’s already a great leash walker, though he would still benefit from a little more training to help him feel secure and well-mannered in all situations. If you’ve been waiting for a gentle soul who just needs patience, love, and a safe place to call home, Onyx might just be the perfect match!

If you are interested in adopting a dog from us please visit the ranch. Our website adoptions page has all of our availalbe dogs and our adoption application at www.bdrr.org/adopt. This will help us make sure we find you the right dog to fit your situation and family. You are welcomed to come to the ranch seven days a week or you can make an appointment with our adoption desk. Our adoption fees range depending on the dog's breed, age and other factors.
