Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Starr!
Starr is an active and sweet 7.5-month-old, 41-pound hound mix who would make a great hiking buddy or companion for your home and adventures. She enjoys meeting people, playing with other dogs, and especially loves when those two things happen at the same time! Starr gets along well with adults and enjoys spending time with her canine friends.
Still in her playful puppy phase, Starr is affectionate and full of enthusiasm. She’s learning her boundaries — she can get excited when greeting people and may try to jump up for a friendly face lick. She hasn’t had much exposure to small children yet, so it’s hard to say how she would react, but continued socialization and puppy training will help her learn polite manners with everyone she meets.
Starr loves her puppy food, outdoor time, and adventures — exploring, sniffing the air on car rides, and following scent trails on walks (her hound nose never misses a thing!). She’s curious and occasionally picks up small objects or bugs during her explorations, so a bit of supervision is helpful.
She’s house trained and doing great, though like any young dog, she may need a little time to adjust to a new environment or routine. Starr has shown she’s eager to learn and responds well to consistent guidance and positive reinforcement.
Social, affectionate, and full of life, Starr is ready to find a home where she can continue growing into the wonderful dog she’s meant to be. Could you be the one to give this happy girl the love and adventure she deserves?
Star is fostered in the Louisville area. Her adoption fee is $300.00.
To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
