This helps Fulton County Animal Center with pet care costs.
Meet Taro: Our 2nd Longest Resident, and Running Out of Time
4 years old | Mixed Breed | 50 lbs | $0 TO ADOPT
Taro isn’t here because he’s a bad dog. He isn’t aggressive. He isn’t broken. He isn’t a project. Taro is a good dog who is losing hope, and he needs someone to save him before it’s too late. He simply doesn’t cope well with shelter life, and the stress is wearing him down... but that’s not who he truly is!
What people don’t see:
He’s dog-friendly
He doesn’t seem to mind cats
He loves people
He’s sweet, goofy, affectionate, and easygoing once he’s out of the kennel
Before coming here, Taro lived with several other dogs, and it’s believed he had to compete for his food. Because of that, he scarfs his meals and sometimes takes treats like a snapping turtle! He's not being aggressive, he's just in survival mode. For this reason, he’d do best in a home without small children and should be fed separately from other pets.
Taro came to us underweight with some skin issues, but with good food and TLC, he has healed beautifully. His heart is big, his personality is joyful, and he’s ready for someone to finally see how wonderful he really is.
Taro has been overlooked for far too long.
His quality of life is starting to slip, and he needs out soon.
He just needs a chance... someone willing to see the dog he truly is.
His adoption fee is fully SPONSORED, and he goes home with 12 months of FREE heartworm, flea & tick prevention ($350+ value).
If you’ve been thinking about adding a new companion to your home…
Taro is the one to come meet.

If it’s a good fit, you may be able to take your new best friend home the same day!
