Sweet Regis is a 8 months old cattle dog mix and under 45 lbs. He is shy and timid around people, but very sweet once he opens up. He has been in foster for four weeks and has learned to enjoy pets and kisses, but not a fan of grooming yet. He is looking for a patient family who will allow him to open up on his own pace (older kids preferred).
Regis gets along wonderfully with other dogs and ignored cats in the shelter. However, it is fun to chase squirrels outside and make them run up the trees. He loves to play in the backyard, but he will also lay down and settle nicely while his people work. Regis has not figured out balls or toys yet. But he does like soft blankets and sunny spots. He naps a lot during the day and does not bark in general. But if you sing or talk to him, he sometimes talk back softly.
Regis is housebroken and has not had an accident in the house. He is trusted to roam free in his foster home. He knows how to use a doggy door. He also has done well in dog parks (off leash play) and loves walks.

More about this shelter
Soul Dog is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue organization founded with the mission to spay/neuter and protect animals. We are currently a small group of committed volunteers making a difference in the life of one animal at a time. As an all volunteer administration, all donations made to Soul Dog go directly to improving the health of the pets that share our lives.
Soul Dog is proactive in animal welfare advancing the need for spaying and neutering our pets to reduce overpopulation. We travel to rural communities on Native American reservations, where spaying and neutering will only happen if it is nearly free or very convenient. Soul Dog works with volunteer veterinarians to provide the spaying and neutering service at no cost to the public. Donations are used to defray the costs associated with medications, supplies, and the operating cost for clinics.
