My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Koko!

A spirited four-year-old Hound/Australian Cattle Dog/American Pitbull Terrier mix currently living in Mount Laurel, NJ, whose essence is a blend of sunshine, snuggles, and squeaky toy delight, all wrapped in a charming tricolor coat.

At 35 pounds of pure affection, Koko is the perfect mid-sized companion for someone who’s looking for a loyal shadow, because that’s exactly what she’ll be! She’s house-trained, crate-trained, and proudly knows commands like “sit,” “down,” “come,” and even a cheerful “high five.” Food-motivated and smart, Koko shines when given structure and positive reinforcement, and she’s eager to keep learning, especially if treats are involved!

Koko thrives in calm environments where she can enjoy the outdoors, chase squeaky toys, and bask in the sun like a little sun-worshipper. Her ideal day includes a quiet walk, followed by a good nap near her favorite person, and belly rubs on repeat. But when you walk through the door? Get ready for the kind of tail-wagging, happy-dancing welcome that makes every return home feel like a celebration!

She’s a sensitive soul who gets anxious around other dogs and small children, so she’s looking for a home where she can be the only pet and enjoy one-on-one time with a patient, experienced pet parent. Big crowds and chaotic environments aren’t her style, but give her a calm space and your attention, and she’ll be your most devoted companion.

Though she can be leash reactive, especially around unfamiliar dogs, Koko has had professional training and responds well to patient guidance and a consistent routine. She’s also been supported with medication to help ease her anxiety, showing just how much care and love she’s already received.

Koko is ready for her next chapter with someone who sees her for the gentle, goofy, affectionate pup she truly is. Could that someone be you?
