My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Birdie was found – tiny, despite being very pregnant -- coming up to people's homes as if asking for a safe place to have her babies. (We think she may have been put out of her home at her first heat.) There was no time to lose, and the first kitten popped out in the car on her way to foster care!

Despite being just a big kitten herself, Birdie took her job as mom *seriously* and was so devoted (and watchful from life on the street) that she showed no interest in play for the first month. It’s been a joy to see her relax enough to get silly and chase after toys.

She's well-behaved around the house. Although not a snuggler, she greets her people at the front door, likes to be in the room with them, and spends a lot of time sprawled out in sunbeams, being decorative. When she would like more food, she will "pay" her people by bringing them toys as a little hint.

Birdie needs a loving home without small kids, where people will respect her body language. She loves chin and cheek scritches but will let you know that aggressive petting is not her thing.

Birdie is ready for adoption and would be happy to meet you.
