Meet Romulus, a gentle soul looking for a calm, understanding forever home. This 2-year-old Golden Retriever mix was rescued from another shelter in Georgia and brought to Big Dog Ranch to find the loving family he deserves. With a low energy level and a shy, timid nature, Romulus thrives in quiet environments where he can feel safe and secure. While he is friendly with people, he does best when introductions are slow and respectful of his space. Romulus is housetrained and loves toys, often finding comfort in gentle play. Due to his sensitive temperament, he would do best in a home without young children. Older kids who understand boundaries and can give him space are a better fit. Because of his need for a patient and experienced handler, Romulus is best suited for someone with prior dog ownership experience—someone who will give him the time he needs to build trust and confidence at his own pace. If you’re looking for a quiet, loyal companion and have the experience and heart to help a shy dog blossom, Romulus may be the perfect addition to your family!

If you are interested in adopting a dog from us please visit the ranch. Our website adoptions page has all of our availalbe dogs and our adoption application at www.bdrr.org/adopt. This will help us make sure we find you the right dog to fit your situation and family. You are welcomed to come to the ranch seven days a week or you can make an appointment with our adoption desk. Our adoption fees range depending on the dog's breed, age and other factors.
