My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, I’m a sweet senior fella with a gentle soul and a whole lot of love to give. I may be slowing down a little, and it seems like my eyes and ears aren’t as sharp as they used to be—but don’t worry, I still enjoy life in my own calm, steady way.

I find comfort in soft beds, kind hands, and the simple joys of being near my people. Once I get familiar with my surroundings, I adjust just fine and move about at my own pace.

What I’m really hoping for is a quiet, loving home where I can spend my golden years feeling safe, cared for, and cherished. If you’re looking for a gentle companion who will be forever grateful for your love, I might just be the dog for you.

*I’ve been waiting for my forever home for over 100 days, which makes me a Featured Pet! That means my adoption fee is completely waived—all I need now is the right family to take me home

Additional adoption info

Our website, IndyHumane.org, is updated daily with pets who are available for adoption. Third-party sites, such as Adopt-a-Pet and others, are not accurate or reliable sources of information about our shelter pets. Please visit IndyHumane.org for more information and to check the status of a particular pet.
Each adoptable cat and dog has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Our adoption counselors are happy to share their behavioral and medical background with you during the application process!
We are a non-profit shelter with limited staff. Answers to common questions can be found at IndyHumane.org!

Go meet their pets

You can find up-to-date information on all of our available pets by visiting IndyHumane.org/Cats or IndyHumane.org/Dogs. Adopt-a-Pet is a third party site and not a source of reliable, updated information.

Our website is updated throughout each day, so if you see a pet on there that you are interested in, as long as their photo is on the website it means they are still available. Each profile will have a link for their online application. Please fill out an application for the pet you'd like to meet and a member of our team will contact you within 24-48 hours for more info and to schedule an intro. Thanks!
