My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Did you ever want a lab that wasn't a labby lab? Or a Coonhound that wasn't quite so big? Or a beagle that wasn't quite so small?! Dory (also called River) is the girl for you! Dory looks like a (medium-ish) hound. Dory sounds like a (large-ish) hound even. But Dory, is SO much more than just a hound!

Dory is crate trained and potty trained and walks well on a leash. She LOVES to play fetch and seems utterly ambivalent to dogs. She's happy to be friends, or just aquaintences. Dory is kid friendly, has never met a person she doesn't like, and is up for any adventure! You can bathe her, clip her nails and expect her to cooperate at the vet. Dory is not particularly a fan of cats. They move a bit too fast and are too fun to chase.

Dory is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and had a vet well visit. Dory has some mild anxiety around storms and fireworks, but is happy to snuggle up under a blanket and ostrich her way through it. She is fine in the car.

We will contact you after receipt of the application to go over any questions you might have and discuss next steps.

Because we are a home based rescue with very few foster families, we do allow people to come to our home to view dogs BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. An application must be filled out and approved before the appointment is set. We have very few recognized events but can be found wandering farmers markets and pets stores with 'adopt me' vests indicating availability. Please email info@4pups.org if you have any questions.
