My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sourpatch Cat – A Quiet Soul Looking for a Peaceful Home 🐾

Sourpatch Cat (first he is sour, then he is sweet) is a sensitive and quiet boy who’s still learning that the world can be a safe and loving place.
He might greet you with a hiss instead of a meow but within seconds he is interested in what you are up to. He is very playful at night and when he feels safe. He’s nervous around new people and needs plenty of time and patience to truly feel comfortable.

Because of this, Sourpatch Cat would do best in a calm, low-traffic home with someone who understands that trust takes time.

He enjoys his own space and doesn’t ask for much — just a cozy spot to nap and the freedom to come out on his own terms. While he may not be the cuddliest cat right away, with gentle care and understanding, he has the potential to slowly come out of his shell. Once he trusts you, he will be rubbing against you and headbutting you asking for love!

If you have a big heart, a quiet home, and the patience to let a shy cat set his own pace, Sourpatch Cat could be the perfect companion for you.

Stop in and meet my cute self in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you.

I hope to meet you soon!

All of our cats and kittens go home spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on their core vaccines, as well as flea and tick preventatives. Each adoption also includes a 3.5-pound bag of Iams cat food and a free vet exam at one of our participating veterinary partners.
