My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Scooby is available through our `Adopt From a Foster Home` program. If you are interested in scheduling a meeting, please fill out the request form here: Adopt From Foster Form. Please do not make an appointment through our online booking calendar, as he is not available to meet on site.

**Scooby is a Patient Paw, please ask about his reduced adoption fee!**

Age: 3 years

A bit about Scooby: (Mastiff/Great Dane Mix)
- unknown history with kids; all interactions should be supervised; No Small Children due to Scooby`s size and energy levels
- no cats (required)
- has lived with a similar sized dog; select dogs okay pending successful introduction

Meet Scooby! This delightful boy is a favourite with volunteers, as he`s very sweet and loves a good cuddle! He`s also playful, energeticm house-trained and has great potential to get along with your resident dog! Scooby doesn`t always realize just how big he is and sometimes he likes to show his love by jumping up to say hi! This can be overwhelming for young kids, so we are looking for a home with older children who are confident around dogs! Fortunately, with the help of his dedicated foster family and foster pup sister, he is making continual strides with polite greetings. Scooby loves a good game of chase or tug, and might be an ideal match for a similar pup looking for a playmate, or maybe just a human who enjoys playtime too! Scooby will benefit from an active family with lots of cuddles to offer, and some patience while he learns your routine and keeps building his skills! It`s no mystery that Scooby will be the perfect addition to someone`s crew - in fact, his foster family says you`ll be very lucky to have him! So what are you waiting for? Email us to meet Scooby today!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
