My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Princess is a black and tan Dachshund/Chiweenie mix, she is 10 years old and 9 lbs. She is spayed, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines and monthly preventatives.

Princess is fostered in the greater Jacksonville, FL area. Submit an adoption application on our website: https://www.fawnssmalldogrescue.org/adoptable-dogs/princess

Princess is a darling, cuddly lady who prefers people over everything else. Like many Dachshund mixes, she has opinions and is sometimes fussy enough to express them. It's hard when people forget that you're royalty!

Princess is working on house and potty training. She's been doing well going potty in the yard and on potty pads. She's working on leash training and her ideal home has a securely fenced yard.

In Princess's previously life, she lived with a family with two other small dogs and kids who were 10+ years old. She do best with dog-savvy teens. She and Fawn's foster Bella, lived together. Unfortunately, they had a falling out and can't be placed in the same home.

Princess is currently fostered with multiple small dogs. She'd do best with one or two other dogs. This diva dachshund mix doesn't enjoy competing for attention with other senior female dogs. She does best with similarly sized male dogs and younger female dogs.

Princess is ready for the sweet life with the royal treatment she clearly deserves. She'd adore being the only Princess in the castle, however, with appropriate introductions she'd be fine with a prince and a younger princess. Her ideal home has a securely fenced yard and people who are home more often than not. She's enjoying living in an adult only home, she'd likely to well with older, dog-savvy teens.

Additional adoption info

We do our best to select the family and home that we feel is ideal based on the unique needs of each dog. Adopters must be 21 years or older.

As we are a foster-based organization our adoption radius is 150 miles from Jacksonville, FL.

Our adoption donations range between $175 to $450 depending on the age and medical expenses paid out for each dog while in rescue. All donations go back to our foster dogs and their care.

Fawn's does a veterinarian and reference check. Your application will be denied if the animals you own are not properly vaccinated, neutered and spayed, and up to date on their heartworm and other preventative medications.

More about this rescue

Fawn's Small Dog Rescue is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization based in Florida. We are dedicated to saving lives of forgotten dogs in shelters and rescue other stray, abused, or forgotten dogs in Florida.

Our rescue dogs are placed with caring foster families until we find them a qualified permanent loving home. All our dogs receive complete veterinary care, socialization, compassion, nourishment and rehabilitation while in Fawn's Foster Program.

We believe every dogs broken spirit can be mended. We hope to help educate the public on spay/neutering, controlling pet overpopulation and proper animal care.
