My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Please note that we can not guarantee the age, expected weight or breed of any animal. What we provide is our best estimates based on our experience and the information provided by the our medical partners. If breed and eventual size are of great importance we suggest looking into a breed specific rescue or adopting a full grown animal.

Unless otherwise noted, ALL animals are fostered and available for adoption on Long Island, NY.

Approx. one year old Shepherd mix

Meet Trey & Maddie – A Bonded Pair Looking for Forever Love

Trey (10 yrs, 52 lbs) and Maddie (7 yrs, 47 lbs) are a sweet, devoted duo who recently found themselves back with us after losing their home. These two are truly best friends and need to stay together—where one goes, the other happily follows.

Trey is a happy, playful senior hound mix who loves everyone he meets—people, kids, and other dogs alike. Despite his age, he’s full of life, enjoys playtime, and soaks up attention wherever he goes. He’s housebroken, crate trained, and walks well on leash, making him an easygoing companion.

Maddie is a gentle shepherd mix with a soft soul who just wants to be loved. She’s mild-mannered, affectionate, and would thrive in a calmer home where she can relax and be your loyal companion. Maddie is great with kids and other dogs, but she’s happiest simply being close to her people.

Together, Trey and Maddie balance each other beautifully—Trey brings the cheer and fun, while Maddie brings the calm and sweetness. They’ve already been through so much, and now they’re ready to start fresh with a family who will cherish them both.

More about this rescue

We provide adoption services in NY, NJ, CT, RI, NH, and ME.

Last Chance Animal Rescue is a Charitable, not -for profit organization, created to save the lives of animals. We rescue animals that are located in "KILL" facilities and underwrite the costs of relocating them to "NO KILL" facilities in hopes of finding them a forever family. We work with local veterinarians for spay-neuter/ medical services until permanent placement is secured into a pre-screened loving home. We depend on donations to continue to save these helpless loving animals from being killed and hope that you will consider supporting our cause..... saving as many lives as we can.
