My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Checkers, a gentle and sweet 1-year-old Pointer mix who is ready for a patient and loving forever home. Weighing 31 lbs, Checkers was rescued from a southern shelter and is slowly learning to trust the world around him. He is very shy and takes time to warm up to new people and environments, but once he does, he proves what a loving and devoted companion he truly is.

Checkers absolutely loves other dogs and enjoys their company, making him a great addition to a home with a friendly canine friend. With the right amount of patience, consistency, and gentle encouragement, this sweet boy will flourish and show just how affectionate and loyal he can be.

If you’re looking for a gentle, dog-loving sweetheart who just needs a little time to feel safe, Checkers is ready to find the perfect home where he can grow confident, happy, and deeply loved.
