My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cray is a deer-headed chihuahua and is a tiny whirlwind of personality wrapped in a sleek, deerlike silhouette. With his elegant, narrow muzzle and large, expressive eyes, he looks a bit like a miniature forest creature who wandered into the world of dogs and decided to stay. His ears stand tall and alert—always listening, always judging, always ready to react to the slightest sound.

Despite his small size, Cray carries himself with the confidence of a much larger animal. He trots with a proud, springy step, tail curved like a question mark behind him. His coat is short and smooth, usually in warm fawn or tan tones that enhance his deerlike appearance.

Cray is clever, dramatic, and hilariously opinionated. He’ll bark at a leaf blowing across the yard, but he’ll also curl up like a cinnamon roll in your lap the moment he decides you’ve earned his affection. He’s loyal to his people, suspicious of strangers, and absolutely convinced he’s the main character in every room he enters.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Thank you for adopting and not buying!!! Every week hundreds of highly adoptabledogs are put to death by local shelters. Most people would be amazed at the purebred and beautiful dogs available, if they walked into their neighborhood shelter.

Rescue organizations, like mine, work hard to save as many as we possibly can but is a never ending process with breeders and Puppy Mills selling unhealthy animals to the public. If you EVER saw a puppy mill you would NEVER buy again!

All of my dogs are neutered or spayed, vet checked, completely vaccinated, wormed, groomed and checked for heart worms. They are all are current on Heart worm medicine, flea, and tick medications. They are all microchipped as well.

Adoption fee is $300 to $350 (older "friends' can be less, please inquire. Puppies are $350 - Besides fully vetting all dogs, some of of the dogs I rescue, 1 in 5 I rescue have heart worms which is very expensive to treat. I also take in dogs who need surgeries and are close to death.

More about this rescue

About us: Cody was the first pet I owned as an adult. He was a Shih Tzu that I bought unknowingly, from a Puppy Mill. He fought for his life and barely survived, suffering for the first few months of his life. From then on I was stirred by a ferocious passion to save as many dogs as I could through networking with other rescue groups and saving the ones I could off of cold streets and unwanted in shelters. Cody did not live a very long life due to a weakened body, but I was able to love on him for eight good years! He will always be loved and forever remembered. With over 400 dogs rescued so far, we ARE making a difference!!
Thank you for visiting and considering a rescue........................
