Here's what the humans have to say about me:
OCTOBER 2025
PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BELOW. IT WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. If you still have questions after, we are happy to respond through email.
It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life.
The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! Rescue Mama has had 3 live into their 20's. One was 8 weeks old.
One of our previous fosters found a mama cat (LUCY) and her 4 kittens (LILI - SHANDRA - JACE - ALANI) eating out of the dumpster at her work site in Hemet, California. Before trapping them, she reached out if we cold help her. We agreed if she would foster.
We had the mama cat scheduled to be fixed. The day before she was due to get fixed, she had a second litter. So apparently she was pregnant before she was trapped. Her new liter of 4 kittens was LYNA - ELARA - CASTOR - POLLUX.
LYNA is a gray, long-haired Maine Coon mix with a personality as grand as her lineage, despite her petite stature. Known for being a "gentle giant" breed, LYNA embraces the affectionate and playful nature of her ancestry, but in a charmingly compact size. She is not just a beloved pet, but a devoted family member who shares a special, almost telepathic bond with her twin sister.
Small in size, big in heart
LYNA may be small for her breed, but her heart is oversized, overflowing with affection for her human family and her siblings. Her loving nature is a classic Maine Coon trait. A true homebody, LYNA prefers a cozy lap to an empty room and will make sure she is always where the action is, never far from the people she adores.
The "water baby"
Like many Maine Coons, LYNA has a unique fascination with water. She loves to dip her paw in her water bowl, stirring it with a delicate curiosity before settling in for a long drink. This quirky habit is a constant source of amusement for her family, who often find themselves watching her "fish" for no reason in her bowl. A dedicated fan of wet food, LYNA shows her love for a delicious meal with a satisfied purr and an enthusiastic lick of the bowl.
A mischievous spirit
Always on the lookout for a snack, LYNA is a connoisseur of treats and will eagerly perform a trick or two for a tiny bite. This food motivation, coupled with her playful energy, keeps her family on their toes. She is a clever and inquisitive cat, and she'll happily accept a challenge if it ends with a tasty reward. Her antics, though sometimes mischievous, are always forgiven thanks to her sweet-natured personality.
Could your heart be the safe harbor LYNA needs? If you're ready , please apply at Workinwhiskers.com. LYNA is waiting for someone special—could it be you?
LYNA is a DOMESTIC LONG HAIR/ MAINECOON-SIBERIAN MIX. She is about 1 year 2 months old and is good with cats. In her foster home, she was around other kittens and her mom. She has never been around children or dogs.
LYNA is currently at PETSMART *** 17651 Colima Rd, City of Industry, CA 91748***

The cats/kittens at a foster/rescue home, we will accommodate as much as possible. But steps 1-6 of the ADOPTION PROCESS need to be done before we do the OFFICIAL MEET & GREETS. It is easier to do the meet and greets at the locations listed below:

************* Please no calls to the rescue. No one available to take calls. *************
If the CAT/KITTEN is still listed (meaning here or other websites) they are still available. It does not mean they don't have other pending applications or meet and greets.
Please note: Just because you fill out an application and are approved does not obligate you to adopt the cat/kitten. If he or she is not a fit...we have plenty of other cats / kittens available for adoption.
We are a SMALL rescue based out of Hemet, California. We are all volunteers that run the rescue. If we haven't reached out....be patient.
LYNA is ALREADY fully vetted.
The adoption fee of $250 covers:
Spay
FVRCP shots
RABIES shot
FELV/FIV test (Negative/Negative)
Drontal Dewormer
Stronghold Flea Control
Microchip
We are NOT a government FUNDED shelter and all our donations and adoption fees are for our rescued cats/kittens. So, we do not do DISCOUNTS.
If for some unfortunate reason you missed out on the kitten/cat you emailed about...I'm sure that we could help you with another rescue baby! Just ask!
