My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Opie – The Best Cat Ever

Opie is a handsome orange tabby with an “old soul” and a heart as warm as his sunny coat. He absolutely loves life—whether it’s playing with other cats, especially kittens, enjoying the company of small dogs, or matching the boundless energy of kids. Opie has never met a person or animal he didn’t like, and he greets everyone as a friend.

His journey to rescue is nothing short of remarkable. Opie showed up on his foster mom’s porch after being shot in the eye with a high-powered BB gun. Even in that painful moment, he was gentle, kind, and trusting—never hissing or scratching, only grateful for the helping hands that scooped him up. Though blind in one eye, the eye itself is healthy, and his vision loss doesn’t slow him down at all.

Opie’s favorite things include playing, cuddling, and simply soaking up all the joy life has to offer. The only thing he doesn’t like is being in a cage or carrier—he’d much rather be out in the world, sharing his love with everyone he meets.

With his playful spirit, gentle nature, and endless affection, Opie truly is one of a kind. He’s ready to bring warmth, laughter, and unconditional love to his forever family. Could that be you? Opie has had an eye removed!

We provide all initial wellness care, including vaccines, deworming, checking for mites etc., for each kitten and cat under our care. All cats and kittens available for adoption have been spayed or neutered, microchipped, combo tested and given a rabies vaccine. Our adoption fees also cover lifetime microchip registration. To apply to adopt, please visit our website www.fcocinc.org and click "Adopt" under the cat you're interested in.
