My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Delta is a strong-willed 5-6 year-old who weighs 48 pounds. She is like a Mack truck with short, stubby legs. She is stubborn and as strong as an ox.

Think Basset Hound with a mystery twist

Delta was found on the streets of the Rio Grande Valley, with scars all over her body. She had a hard life which made her the tough dog that she is. She has an old hip injury that doesn't alter her ability to walk or run. She has been through a lot and is ready for her forever home.

She will require a tough owner that is willing to train her and make her the best dog she can be. Are you just as stubborn and want things to go your way? If so, then Delta is the gal for you !

She is loving, but would do best in a home where she can be the only dog with her person. She told us she prefers to be spoiled and live her life in the AC on a couch without other dogs to bother her.

She will keep you laughing with her crazy antics. She will give you endless loyalty, laughs and love.

She is located at our rescue in Hondo, Texas.

Every dog adopted through Tracy’s Paws receives:
• Chagas, heartworm, and tick testing (when age-appropriate)
• All core vaccines (age-appropriate)
• Heartworm and flea/tick preventatives
• Regular Deworming
• Spay/neuter surgery
• Microchip

**Breed listings are our best guess, based on appearance.**

Delta tested positive for Chagas disease and has already started treatment. With treatment, Chagas is fully curable, and dogs go on to live long, happy lives. Tracy’s Paws is one of the first rescues to test every dog for Chagas, and we’ve had measurable success with our treatment protocol. We are also committed to educating adopters and the public about Chagas so even more.

Delta tested positive for heartworms and has been treated.

More about this rescue

My name is Tracy. I started Tracy's Paws Rescue with my dear friend Rhonda Harmon. Texas has a lot of unwanted stray dog on the streets and in our shelters. We are dedicated to helping them find loving families. We rescue, spay/neuter, adopt out, transport, educate through the Live Like a Dog PAWS program and advocate for stronger laws and the enforcement of existing ones.
