Lena is a fabulous tortoiseshell kitten with a black moustache that adds a touch of pizzazz! She has a big personality and just the right dash of tortie spice. This confident little diva knows exactly what she wants and isn’t shy about letting you know. She loves romping around with her brothers and sister, always in the middle of the action and ready for the next adventure. Lena adores her pets and kisses, graciously accepting your affection before darting off to chase toys or explore new territory.
Lena was born at Chicago Animal Care and Control (CACC) alongside her four siblings on 4/21/2025.
The perfect home for Lena would be one where she can go home with one of her brothers or her sister or join a family that already has another young cat to keep her company and match her playful energy. Although Lena shows a bit of hesitation around the dog in her foster home, she doesn’t run away and seems open to the idea of sharing her space with a canine friend given time and proper introductions.
All kittens must be adopted with another kitten or into a home with another young cat with which he or she can play and socialize. The majority of no-kill rescues nationwide adhere to this policy. This policy is NOT based on a desire to increase our number of adoptions, rather it ensures that the kittens we rescue, nurture, and love are adopted into homes that offer the best possible environment for their social development.

Once you have chosen a pet from online or visited at one of our adoption centers, you may decide to submit an application.

Interview
Your application will be acknowledged and a request made for a convenient time to set up a phone interview.

Home Check
We do not visit your home, but we do check vet and personal references.
4.
Approve Application
Once approved, you will meet with our adoption manager, sign your contract, pay your $175 donation fee, and pick up your new baby!

The $175.00 adoption fee for cats includes the spay/neuter, AKC micro-chipping, FIV/FeLV testing (Feline) or Heartworm testing (Canine), deworming, de-fleaing and vaccines.
