Here's what the humans have to say about me:
My name is Dojo and I’m looking for my forever home. I’m 5 y.o. and weigh 22 lbs. If you are looking for a laid-back gentleman to hangout with, I’m your boy! I came to my foster home in the Kansas City area after being rescued from a commercial breeding facility. I’m a calm, relaxed and quiet guy – an “old soul” in a young body. I love head and neck scritches and meal time! I get along well with the other dogs here – all females. There aren’t any cats or small pets here, so I don’t know if I’d get along with them, but so far I don’t feel tempted to chase critters in the yard, so that’s a good sign. I am good with human kids. There are two young boys here, ages 6 and 8, and I let them pet me and I tolerate their loud noises. I’m learning all kinds of new things here, like how to walk on a leash. I’ve done well so far practicing in the fenced yard and don’t pull at all. Even though I’m quiet, I’ll let you know when it’s time for me to be let out of my crate or when it is time to eat! I love to be outside, either hanging out on the porch after doing my business or playing with one of the other dogs. I’m very curious about all of the new things in the yard and house. I tried to climb the chain link fence to explore the neighbor’s yard once, and I also like to sniff the good-smelling things up on the counter tops in the kitchen. I’m a healthy boy – neutered, vaccinated and potty trained. My perfect forever family will be careful and take precautions to avoid escapes since I’ve clearly inherited the Shiba Inu tendency to explore. If you live in the Midwest and want calm and quiet guy to hang out with, visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt to apply to become an approved adopter with SIRA. The application process helps SIRA learn more about you and your home environment so they can make sure we’ll be a good match. Once approved, SIRA will introduce you to my foster mom so we can meet!
