My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🌸 Meet Jasmine — Your Future Sidekick in Snuggles and Tennis Ball Adventures! 🌸
Looking for a dog who’s equal parts beauty, brains, and bounce? Jasmine, a stunning 50-pound black brindle-and-white pittie mix, is ready to charm her way straight into your heart.
This 2–4-year-old sweetheart already knows her sit command and is incredibly treat-motivated — the perfect recipe for a pup who’s eager to learn and loves making her people proud. On leash she can be a little hesitant at first, but give her a yard and a little freedom and she absolutely comes alive.
🚗 Bonus Perk:
Jasmine rides wonderfully in the car — happily watching the world go by and soaking in every new adventure with calm curiosity. She’s the perfect co-pilot for errands, outings, or just enjoying the breeze together.
🎾 Fun Fact:
Tennis balls? Best. Thing. Ever. If you toss it, she’ll chase it. If you squeak it, she’ll zoom. If you hand it to her… well, she might just propose marriage.
💖 Jasmine’s Vibe:
• Quiet, affectionate, and wonderfully attentive
• Playful with a soft, sweet soul
• Outgoing once she trusts you — then you’re her whole world
• Happy just hanging out with her person (bonus points if you bring the ball 😉)
Jasmine is the total package — gentle, gorgeous, silly, smart, and so ready for her forever person. She’s just waiting for someone special to see what an incredible companion she truly is.
Come meet this beautiful girl and let her show you how bright her little world can be with the right person by her side. 🐾💕

More about this shelter

The City of Hopewell Animal Shelter is run by the Animal Control Officers. We fall under the Hopewell Police Department and train accordingly to serve the animals and the public of Hopewell. Our shelter is currently a small scale shelter with 28 dog kennels and 14 cat cages.

Our shelter is often full. We work hard to find our animals that are not claimed by an owner a new home or an approved rescue.

Most of our animals at our facility are animals that were found running loose that no one came to look for. We do often get animals in from owner surrenders where the previous owners can no longer care for them. At times we also seize animals and they will eventually need forever homes or rescue.

Come on down to the City of Hopewell and meet the wonderful Animal Control Officers and the Shelter staff that care for the animals on a daily basis.
