Jaci’s journey with us has been nothing short of inspiring. When she first arrived at the shelter, she was extremely under-socialized and unsure of the world around her. To make things even more challenging, she came to us as a brand-new mom with 10 tiny puppies who were only a few days old. Despite her fears, Jaci was a devoted mother, giving her babies all the love and care they needed. Thanks to her dedication and strength, every one of her puppies has since found a forever home. Once her mothering duties were complete, our staff shifted their focus to Jaci herself. In the beginning, simple things like being handled or walking on a leash were overwhelming for her. But with time, patience, and consistency, she began to trust. Slowly, Jaci learned that walks could be enjoyable and that gentle hands only meant kindness. Along the way, one of her biggest qualities shined through—her absolute love for other dogs. If given the choice, Jaci will always gravitate toward the company of her canine companions, finding comfort, confidence, and joy in their presence. Recognizing that she had made wonderful progress in the shelter, we wanted to give her the next step she deserved: a foster home. In this more relaxed, home-like environment, Jaci has continued to blossom. Her foster family is helping her gain even more exposure to everyday life, building her confidence, and teaching her that people, too, can be safe and loving. Jaci is still on her journey of growth, but what a beautiful path she’s walking. She has gone from a timid, under-socialized mom to a dog learning how to enjoy life for herself. With the help of her canine friends, her foster family, and the patience of those around her, Jaci is ready to keep writing her story—this time with a forever family of her own.
