My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Gracie 🤎
Gracie is a stunning 13 year old tabby with a personality all her own. She may be considered a senior, but don’t let that fool you, she still has plenty of love to give and is hoping to find a home where she can spend her golden years being cherished.
At first, Gracie can be a little shy and cautious with new people. She has a sensitive side and needs time to feel safe in new surroundings. With patience, understanding, and gentle encouragement, she begins to show her true self, a sweet, affectionate companion who enjoys the comfort of a quiet, loving home.
Gracie has done well with calm, respectful dogs but has never lived with other cats, so her ideal match would be a home where she can either be the only feline or slowly and carefully introduced. A peaceful, predictable environment will help her feel secure and blossom into the wonderful companion she’s meant to be.
Health wise, Gracie does live with hyperthyroidism, but it is very manageable. She requires daily medication, a supportive diet, and regular veterinary monitoring to keep her feeling her best. The good news is that with consistent care, her condition is easily controlled, and she takes her medicine without fuss.
What makes Gracie so special is her gentle spirit. She may not be the kind of cat to rush into your arms on day one, but given time, she’ll reward her adopter with deep trust, quiet companionship, and unconditional love. She’s looking for someone patient and kind, a person who sees her for the sweet soul she is and is ready to give her the second chance she deserves.
If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a beautiful senior cat with a tender personality and a story of resilience, Gracie is waiting to meet you.

Gracie is in a foster home! If you are interested in adopting, please complete an Adopter Profile form at www.parl.org/adopt and email aacevedovelez@parl.org to meet her!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The first step in our adoption process is to submit an adopter profile through our website. We then encourage you to visit PARL at 34 Elbow Street and get to know the animals we have available. You do not need an appointment, and we invite you to visit us often. PARL’s goal is to assist you in finding your best match for a lifelong companion.

When you arrive, you’ll sign PARL’s visitor log, and staff will direct you to PARL’s cat rooms, small animal spaces, or dog kennels (depending on your preference.) We encourage you to spend time outside with the dogs, or petting our cats and small animals. Please ask questions -- that's why we're here.

If you don't find what you are looking for the first time, please come see us again! Chances are that we will have some new furry friends available for adoption, and one of them might be purr-fect for you!
