My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Creed!

Creed is a happy, active mixed-breed pup who arrived at the shelter on 8/29 and has been winning hearts ever since. He loves spending time in the yard, playing in the water, and socializing with both people and other dogs. He recently enjoyed a weekend on our Snout & About program, where he had the chance to show off his personality outside the shelter—and he did not disappoint!

What Creed’s Foster SharedDuring his weekend outing,
Creed stayed with a foster who gave us wonderful insight into his personality:
He met dogs and children and was eager to play with everyone.
He loves toys, chew bones, swimming, walks, and of course—belly rubs.
He’s smart and food-motivated, even offering a perfect “sit” when asked.
He gets excited in the car and is a wiggly, happy passenger.
He wants to stay close to his people and enjoys being by your side.

Leash & Training Notes
The foster shared that Creed still needs some leash practice, as he tends to pull—especially when he sees other dogs he wants to greet. With routine and positive reinforcement, he’ll continue to improve.

He is not fully potty trained yet, but the foster reported that he responded quickly to praise and treats. After a couple of early accidents, he started doing all his business outside with no further issues.

Personality
Creed is a protective, sensitive, playful, and very loving dog. He’s social, active, and thrives with engagement and structure. He would do best in a home ready to keep him busy, help him continue his training, and give him plenty of affection.

Creed is a wonderful, happy dog looking for a family who will love him as much as he’ll love them. If you’re searching for a loyal adventure buddy with a big heart, Creed may be the perfect match!

More about this shelter

Marion County Animal Services is the largest animal shelter in our county. Operating as a no-kill shelter, our kennels are almost always full. We provide adoption, fostering opportunities, work with rescues, accept volunteers and provide the training for veterinary assisting students. In addition, we run the Neuter Commuter and provide all animal control services in Marion County.
Due to the sheer volume of animals in our care, we need lots of help from our community in our effort to adopt out more and save more!
We don't only accept the ideal animals into our shelter. We can offer you quite the array of animal breeds and personalites! Keep an open mind when visiting our shelter- you may find that your perfect match is not at all what you set out to find.
We're here to help you as well as our homeless and lovable animals.
