My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ruben - A2000327395

Âge / Age : 4 ans / 4 years-old
Mâle / Male
Race (s) / Breed (s) : Mix
Poids / Weight : 26,8 kg

Ruben is a bright, energetic, and curious dog who thrives when both his body and his mind are kept busy. He loves learning new things, enjoys his toys, and gets excited about activities like training games, long walks, and chewing sessions. Highly food-motivated, he learns quickly with patience and consistency.

Ruben is looking for an experienced family that is ready to invest time and effort in his training and well-being. His energy and enthusiasm make him a lovable companion, but he will need adopters who can understand his body language, respect his limits, and guide him with positive methods.

To feel his best, Ruben will need to be the only pet in the household and cannot live with children. He is housetrained, loves his toys, and will be happiest in an active, dedicated home where he can continue to learn and grow.

With time, structure, and respect, Ruben will cultivate a deep and rewarding bond with his family.

More about this shelter

Founded in Montreal in 1869, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (now known simply as the Montreal SPCA) was the first animal-welfare organization in Canada. It is not known under whose influence the society was formed, but its history acknowledges assistance from animal-welfare societies in France, England and the United States. In its early years, the SPCA concentrated primarily on improving the treatment of work horses, which were used all across the island of Montreal. The SPCA later began working on additional issues, such as humane dog control, cock-fighting and the killing of wild birds. The SPCA has come a long way since its beginnings: today, it is the largest animal-protection organization in Quebec, speaking on behalf of animals wherever there is ignorance, cruelty, exploitation or neglect.
