Hello there! If you're looking for a cuddly, sweet, little lap cat, keep on looking—that ain't me, babe! I am an independent, petite penguin who has a lot of rules for whoever I decide to let adopt me. But I promise I'm worth it.
Rule 1: Think of me as a pet for your pet. Not so much for you. I go absolutely bonkers when I see the resident cats at my foster home through the glass door—I love me an older kitty! I even love my sister and roommate Coconut, though she's about as cuddly as the fruit she's named after. And kittens are cool, too! I mean, I'll put them in their place when needed, but spare the rod spoil the child, amirite?
Rule 2: You must be fun. Because I am so fun. I've yet to meet a toy I didn't love, though to be honest, I like the cheap ones best. Expensive fountain toy with floating fish? Pass. Broken wand that's only a string now? Yes, please! I also like to hit the 'nip on occasion. I climb, I jump, I wrestle, I stalk; boy do I love me some playtime.
Rule 3: Hands to yourself, please. I mean, know when I last saw a human lick their hands like we do to clean? Never. So keep those germ-ridden mitts to yourself. Please. One exception: I will allow you to gently stroke my back while I'm eating my wet food. You are welcome.
If you are up for these rules, I am your girl. I will sit next to you on the couch (just no touching, shudder), play with you until you get bored first, and keep your other cats on the straight and narrow. I know this is a long shot—most people want cuddly kittens, you know? But I'm just so hopeful that there's a cat savvy person out there who will love me for me. Is that you?

Additional adoption info
During review of the application if you rent your home, we confirm with your landlord that you are allowed to have the cat per your lease.
We also consider if a particular cat is a good fit for your home. Certain cats will do better in homes without small children, or without other cats. Other cats may need to be adopted with a cat that they are bonded with. So we make sure that the cat and the home are a good match before completing an adoption.
Some of our fosters allow trial adoptions, where you would have 2-3 weeks to make sure that the cat being adopted was accepted by the other pets in your home. If you are interested in this, please ask your Adoption Representative.
All cats adopted from Stray Cat Blues have been screened for feline leukemia and FIV, inoculated, sterilized and wormed when they first come to us. Additional vet work is completed for those cats that require additional care. Healthy, adoptable cats and kittens are then housed through our network of foster homes until they are adopted.
You are also welcome to come visit cats at our PetSmart Collegeville and PetSmart North Wales/Montgomeryville locations (see times for adoption showings). If you see a cat there that you like, you can complete an adoption application there in person.
Questions - email us at: contact@straycatblues.org. We are happy to answer general questions, and also put you in touch with the foster families for questions about specific cats.
Adoption Fees:
• $150 - Kittens up to one year of age
• $100 - For cats over one year and up to 7 years of age
• $70 - For cats 7 years of age and over.
All fees are subject to Pennsylvania's 6% sales tax and a minimum of $5 or 5% service fee.
Fees for cats with special needs will be determined based upon circumstances and may result in a fee reduction.
