Welcome Koa to CCPAL Rescue foster program. Koa is a very sweet pup. We think her breed mix is Dutch Shepherd/Border Collie. She weighs about 28 pounds and should stay medium sized. She is good on a leash, good with other dogs. She is mostly with her sister in her foster home. Koa is the most confident of the 2 pups and she has 2 upright ears. She uses a doggy door and is good on leash and in a car. She would be best with someone that is active and outdoorsy. She would be fine as an only dog or would be good with another dog. She will be a fun one to train. She has good eye contact and attention to who is speaking with her. She has one upright ear and one that is not. She is getting her vaccinations and will be spayed and ready for her forever home. She is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. She would be a great family companion and could go with children. We like children to be 8 or older. Please be patient when you put in your application. Adoption fee for Koa is $400 and transport is $200. This is a very desirable breed mix. We are being very careful in vetting people and we are a small group of volunteers. You would fill out an application and we will call your references and your veterinarian. We will also run a criminal background check. Once completed and approved you would speak to Troy the kennel manager and get all the additional specifics on the dog you are interested in adopting. Once completed we will be ready for you to take your new family member home.

C.C.P.A.L. seeks to reduce the enormous problem of pet overpopulation in Bandera County We promote low-cost spay/neuter programs; advise on basic health care & proper shelter for pets & offer excellent dog obedience classes several times each year. Since 2002, CCPAL has rescued nearly 5,000 animals. We are in constant need of foster homes for these pets until we find them homes. Our pets are in kennels on an acreage in Texas. We can use a transporter to get them outside of Texas if we find a great home.
