Here's what the humans have to say about me:
At 102 pounds, Bobo is a gentle giant with a calm confidence and an irresistible charm. This handsome 3-year-old came to SoHumane on the Saving Train and has quickly won over everyone he meets with his friendly, easygoing nature. Bobo walks beautifully on a leash, enjoys meeting new people and other dogs, and even travels well for his size. Whether you're headed out for a stroll or just spending time with your pack, Bobo is the kind of companion who makes every moment better. If you're looking for a big boy with a loving soul, Bobo might be your perfect match.
The adoption fee for all dogs includes spay/neuter, basic vaccination, parasite preventative, and a 24PetWatch Microchip. Our SoHumane adoption packet includes: Medical summary report for your newly adopted dog, coupons, and additional post-adoption information. Dog adoption fees vary, starting at $225.00 SoHumane is located at:

Take the Pet Home
Pets that are spayed/neutered can go home same day. Pets not fixed will need to stay at SoHumane while they wait for surgery.
Additional adoption info
Depending on the needs of the pet, we may have specific home requirements to help the pet be successful in their new home. Adopters interested in adopting a dog and who have other dogs in the home will need to bring their dogs from home to meet which pup they are interested in.

More about this shelter
More than 95 years of lifesaving efforts invested into our community. SoHumane provides quality care for dogs and cats while working to make a difference in the pet overpopulation problem. Annually, SoHumane serves approximately 1,600 companion animals. In 2022 we successfully adopted out 1,275 animals, and saved 427 animals from euthanasia at other shelters through our Saving Train program.
SoHumane is a registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to the humane treatment of companion animals. Mae Richardson founded the Humane Society of Jackson County in 1928 as an all-volunteer organization that initially provided services for displaced dogs and horses.
