My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Teddy is an orange cat. If you know, you know. :-P

Teddy is a 1+ year old, awkward, squeaky, adorable orange boy. He's maybe... not the smartest. (Don't tell him I said that.) He's a little bit gangly, a little bit silly, and 100% cute.

He lived in an enclosure most of his life and is now happily roaming in a foster home, enjoying stretching his very long legs. His brief zoomies sessions are entertaining to behold.

Teddy loves other cats, mainly for playtime. However, he is no alpha cat and will let other cats take the spotlight even when he doesn't want to. He'd be happy with any cat-friendly sibling, though his ideal one would let Teddy have a chance at fun and affection too. We aren't too picky... he just would enjoy a good friend. He'd also do ok as a solo cat, if someone is home a lot.

Teddy isn't much of a furniture scratcher but loves his cardboard scratch lounger, is a decent albeit slow eater (and seems to prefer company while he does it), and is good with the litterbox. He has only jumped on countertops a few times, and is generally a well-behaved little gentleman. That said, as he grows more comfortable in his space, he grows more curious, and likes to investigate new spaces. If you open it, he simply MUST see what's in there, at least the first time. A dishwasher, a fridge, a cabinet, he's in it.

Initially in a new foster home Teddy was unsure about people. However, the way to Teddy's heart is food, and he loves treats and meal time. He does love attention, and his trust has grown every day. He now loves to jump on the bed and scream for attention. He gets everything he wants, of course.

He is usually very quiet, until he is not. We don't know what he is singing about, but he has to sing it a few times a day, and sometimes when the sun comes up. He also makes hurry-up-I'm hungry mealtime screamies, but mostly he makes squeaky sounds. Adorable, tiny, squeaky sounds. And then there are the silent meows, the cutest of them all.

Teddy is playful, and his favorites are sparkle ball toys, which he sometimes carries in his mouth. He's *trying* to learn how to play fetch.

At night I sit in bed for a movie and he will visit for treats then hang out by my side for a while, getting pets. His visits have grown longer over time and he sometimes even lays by me for a bit while I sleep. Otherwise, he moves to one of his favorite spots to sleep, a cozy bench across the room where he can keep an eye on me. During the day, when he isn't window gazing or playing, he loves napping in his beloved doughnut tunnel or on his bench.

In the morning, once the sun is up, so is Teddy. Once it's breakfast time, he tries to get me to the kitchen faster, by sharing his "hungry screamies", bumping into my ankles, and twining around my feet as I make his meal.

Teddy is FeLV+, and a survivor of FIP, which is amazing! He is looking for a loving home that will give him all the treats, snuggles, cuddly cat caves, and catnip toys he wants.

Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) affects a cat’s immune system, but many FeLV-positive cats can live happy, comfortable lives with proper care. To keep him healthy, he should be indoor-only cat and live with other FeLV+ cats or be the only cat. Regular veterinary check-ups, a nutritious diet, and a stress-free environment are essential to his well-being. FeLV is specific to cats and cannot be transmitted to humans or other animal species.

Est. DOB October 2023, he is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested FIV negative.

He is an FIP survivor. FIP is a mutation of feline coronavirus that can happen in some cats who have lower immune systems or who have a genetic predisposition. There is no continued care required after treatment. Most cats have been exposed to feline coronavirus and only a small percentage will experience a mutation.
