My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cody: the 48-pound, high-speed,  joy machine who’s officially applying for the position of your new best friend. If you’re looking for a dog who is part athlete, part comedian, and 100% "goodest boy," your search ends here.

Professional Skills:  Expert-level "Roll Over" for belly rub negotiation; pup cup connoisseur; professional car-ride co-pilot.

Education:  Very smart; currently enrolled in "Manners 101" (he’s an honor student, just needs a tutor).

Athleticism:  Gold medalist in Backyard Zoomies; loves a good run with his canine squad.

Social Life:  Adores kids; hasn't met a cat yet (he's waiting for an introduction).

Safety Spec:  sFully vaccinated and microchipped for your peace of mind.

Is Cody Your Match?  Cody is looking for an active CEO (Chief Executive Owner) who enjoys long walks, outdoor adventures, and treat-fueled training sessions. In return, he promises to be the center of your attention and provide a lifetime of laughs and loyalty.  Puppies and Dogs are spayed or neutered, Heartworm negative, microchipped, appropriately vaccinated, and treated for parasites. They are available to inside only homes where they will be part of the family.  Applications to adopt can be found at harthumane.org. Our adoption fees include the spay/neuter surgery, deworming, vet exam, and up to date vaccines. It also includes microchipping as well as heartworm testing. If you cannot adopt a pet at this time but would like to support our rescue, donations can be mailed to Hart County Humane Society P.O. BOX 1062 Hartwell GA. 30643 or online at harthumane.org. The Hart County Humane Society is an all-volunteer rescue, we receive no government funding and rely on donations to fund our lifesaving programs.

Additional adoption info

We screen applicants to adopt a pet with an application form, interview, and veterinarian reference. We want all of our pets to be adopted into homes where they are with the family inside at night and during family time. Our adoption fee is $145 for dogs and $65 for cats. All animals offered for adoption have been spayed or neutered, and are up to date on vaccinations and parasite preventives. Cats have been tested for FIV, feline leukemia and heartworms. Dogs been tested for heartworms and treated if positive. All animals have had a microchip implanted. Adopters are required to sign an adoption agreement which includes a commitment to return the animal to the Hart County Humane Society at any time in the life of the animal if the adopter is unable or unwilling to keep and care for the animal, and not to give or sell the animal to anyone else.
