Hi, I’m Ricola. Yes, like the cough drop. And no, I will not be singing the jingle unless there’s a treat involved. I’m a ridiculously friendly, endlessly curious, full-throttle little lovebug with the energy of a triple espresso and the purr of a tiny lawnmower. Sitting still is not my strong suit—seriously, I couldn’t even hold still for my adoption photos. I’m playful to the point of nonsense. If it moves, I’ll chase it. If it doesn’t move, I’ll stare at it until it does. I love people, I love attention, I love being in the middle of whatever you’re doing. Laundry? I’m in it. Zoom call? I’m the new manager now. I’ve also got this hilariously cute little teethy smile that shows up when I’m excited, which is all the time. It’s part goblin, part angel, and entirely irresistible. If you’re looking for a sweet, silly, high-energy cat who will follow you around, make you laugh, and maybe accidentally knock over your water glass in the name of love, I’m your new best friend. I am a special paws adoption, which means I do have medical needs that need tending to. I have chronic URI symptoms. I`m a Hidden Gem, so my adoption fee is waived ($30 admin fee still applies)!

The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society was founded in 1926 and incorporated in 1949. The Humane Society has a publicly-tendered contract with the City of Windsor to provide animal control and basic shelter services in the City. This is only a portion of the work done by our organization. In 2016 almost 12,000 animal came through the doors of our shelter and spay/neuter clinic. We can’t help them without your support.
