Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sheba is a gorgeous, sweet, and loving Doberman who will instantly steal your heart. She’s the kind of dog who wants to meet everyone—whether two-legged or four—and she greets the world with excitement and love.
Sheba is a 7 year old, black and tan, female Doberman with natural ears. She has been on a structured meal plan since coming into the rescue and successfully reached her goal weight of approximately 75 pounds. She is very food motivated and doesn't play with toys unless they have treats in them. She is non-destructive when left alone to free roam in the house but is very curious about everything, sometimes accidentally bumping into things and knocking items off tables. If food is left in easy reach, her willpower to avoid it will eventually cave after a period of time! She has been crated at her foster home and will go inside with treats, being vocal at first, but then settles down once she realizes the house is empty after you have left.
She is fully house trained. At night, Sheba is a dream. She sleeps soundly and can hold her bladder until morning, making her an easy companion for families with routines. She walks very well on a leash by your side, but will pull hard if she sees a squirrel or rabbit. She is non-reactive to other dogs when on a leash, and loves to meet people and kids. Sheba did great when her foster took her to a busy restaurant patio for lunch; she did try to beg for food and wanted pets from all of the strangers!
She plays well with other dogs and doesn't react even if another dog takes her bone away. She does have a tendency to bark at anyone biking, jogging, or walking by the front of the house but stops when you tell her enough or acknowledge her alerting "work" by looking out the window. She uses a large doggie door with ease and doesn't show signs of digging in the yard (only in her bed to fluff it up). She rides well in the car, but does want to climb in the passenger seat as your co-pilot or to explore for food.
Sheba would do wonderfully with a doggy sibling, as she enjoys canine company, and she’d also thrive in a big family where she can get plenty of attention and love. She happily sleeps on her bed or any place that is near you. Her velcro nature makes her a constant companion that nuzzles or paws you for pets throughout the day. Her favorite thing is to sleep in your bed at your side and even stretch out to place her paw or head over you. Her tail wags at hyper speed to show you how happy she is when you are near.
If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and beautiful companion who will bring joy to your life every single day, Sheba is waiting to meet you! Sheba is fostered in Virginia.
