Meet Rusty! Rusty had a rough start — he arrived at the Orange shelter underweight, itchy, and suffering from a severe skin infection, which left his coat patchy and uncomfortable. He was placed on the urgent rescue list, but the moment one of our fosters spotted him, his luck changed. Rusty became a Lovebug that very same day!
Since then, Rusty has made a wonderful recovery. His coat has filled back in and is now the soft, scruffy texture it was meant to be. He’s around 5 years old, weighs 19 lbs, and has a warm, expressive face that makes him impossible not to adore.
Rusty is a friendly, engaging little guy who enjoys meeting new people. When it comes to other dogs, he prefers calmer companions and can be a bit leash-reactive toward larger unfamiliar dogs, so continued positive training and confidence-building will help him continue to progress. He already knows some great basics — sit, come, and wait — and is eager to learn more.
He’ll need ongoing allergy medication to keep his skin healthy and comfortable, but he takes it well and feels so much better with proper care.
Inside the home, Rusty is well-mannered, affectionate, and easy to love. For a true terrier fan, this scruffy sweetheart will make a loyal and delightful companion!

We are a foster based animal rescue located in Southern California. Our goal is to work with local animal shelters that are overpopulated so we may lessen the amount of animals being euthanized unnecessarily. We are 100% volunteer based.
